Smorgasburg, Food court at World Trade Center and Prospect Park, Brooklyn, US
Smorgasburg is a food market at multiple locations in New York where over 70 vendors sell their dishes on weekends. The season runs from spring through fall, with different offerings at each location.
The market was founded by Eric Demby and Jonathan Butler and grew out of the Brooklyn Flea. Since then it has expanded from a single location to multiple sites across the city.
The market is run by many small, family-operated stands offering food from around the world. You find Ethiopian, Hawaiian, and Indian specialties side by side, reflecting the diversity of the city.
Each location has different opening days: Friday at World Trade Center, Saturday in Williamsburg, and Sunday at Prospect Park. Operating hours run from 11 AM to 6 PM.
Each location features different vendor combinations, so regular visitors can discover something new every weekend. This rotation keeps the offerings fresh and encourages returning throughout the season.
