Reserva Natural San Cipriano, Nature reserve in Valle del Cauca, Colombia
The reserve extends across tropical forests with clear rivers, natural pools, and numerous trails for nature exploration and wildlife observation.
The area gained protected status through local community efforts in the 1990s to preserve the native ecosystems of Colombia's Pacific region.
Local residents operate traditional wooden platforms called brujitas on railroad tracks, serving as the primary transportation method to access the reserve.
Visitors need to register at the reception center and can choose between guided tours, swimming activities, or independent hiking on marked paths.
The reserve contains Lake Tortugas and Lake Platina, connected by a network of crystalline streams where numerous fish species swim freely.
