Statue de la Liberté

The Statue de la Liberté is a three-meter-tall sculpture in Saint-Étienne that features the same design elements as the famous original in New York Harbor. It stands today in the center of the city on Place Jules-Ferry.

The monument was installed in 1915 near Grand-Rue and later moved to Place Jules-Ferry in 1952. This relocation helped preserve the work for future generations.

The sculpture embodies the friendship between France and the United States, reflected in this smaller version of the famous New York original. Visitors can experience the symbolic connection between the two nations firsthand.

The monument is located centrally on Place Jules-Ferry and is easily accessible by public transportation. The best time to visit is during daylight hours when the light illuminates the sculpture well.

This version was created directly by Auguste Bartholdi, the original sculptor of the New York monument. It is therefore not merely a reproduction but an authentic work by the master himself.
