Win Sein Taw Ya, Reclining Buddha statue in Mudon Township, Myanmar

The Win Sein Taw Ya statue extends 180 meters in length and rises 30 meters high, making it the largest reclining Buddha structure in the world.

Construction of the enormous Buddhist monument began on February 29, 1992, under the direction of monk Win Sein Taw Ya until his death in 2015.

Inside the statue, multiple floors contain dioramas depicting Buddhist teachings, illustrating religious concepts through detailed scenes and artistic representations.

Visitors reach the site by motorcycle taxi from Mawlamyine, following a 29-kilometer journey south along the main highway toward the town of Mudon.

Five hundred life-size statues of Buddhist monks, each carrying alms bowls and displaying individual facial features, line the pathway leading to the main structure.
