Nomad is a four-story restaurant set inside a former carpet store located at Rahba Lakdima square in the Medina. Two rooftop terraces on the building overlook the old city and the Atlas Mountains in the distance.
The restaurant opened in 2014, converting a former carpet shop in the centuries-old marketplace of the Medina into a dining space. This transformation was part of a broader trend of adapting historic commercial buildings for contemporary use.
The kitchen draws on traditional Moroccan recipes while applying contemporary cooking methods, sourcing ingredients from nearby markets and regional farms. Visitors experience how local food traditions are reimagined without losing their roots.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner from noon through eleven in the evening, with advance reservations advised for the popular rooftop seating. The stairways between floors are steep, so visitors should be prepared for climbing.
The kitchen partners with visiting chefs from around the world who design special menus blending Moroccan tastes with international cooking methods. This collaboration brings regular changes to what is offered and unexpected flavor combinations.
