The hut opens from mid-May to October and in winter from Christmas to Easter. Summer dining runs from 11:00 to 18:30, so it helps to prepare for hiking and wear comfortable shoes.
Direct views stretch toward multiple peaks including Rotwand and Einserkofel within the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The sight of the Sexten Sundial is especially striking at sunrise and sunset.
