The museum opened in December 2013 as a collaboration between Diyalog Sosyal Girişimcilik Derneği and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. It was created with the goal of promoting social inclusion and mutual understanding.

The museum is located in Gayrettepe Metro Station Exhibition Area and requires advance booking. Groups are limited to eight people per tour, so it is important to reserve ahead of time.
