Büyük Mabeyn Köşkü, Ottoman palace reception hall in Beşiktaş, Turkey.
The Büyük Mabeyn Köşkü is a building within the Yıldız Palace complex featuring ornately decorated facades with composite capitals and columns throughout its exterior. The interior spans two levels connected by grand staircases with crystal railings and displays the formal elegance expected of an Ottoman imperial residence.
Architect Sarkis Balyan designed this building in 1866 for Sultan Abdulaziz as part of the palace grounds. It became an administrative hub during Sultan Abdulhamid II's rule between 1876 and 1909.
The structure maintains traditional Ottoman architectural elements, with the upper floor reserved for the sultan while other areas accommodated senior palace officials.
The building sits within a larger palace complex and is accessible through the main entrance off Barbaros Boulevard. Visitors should allow enough time to explore the various rooms and levels throughout the structure.
The ground floor contains a Divanhanesi, a formal reception hall with a decorative pool at its center. This space served as the venue where high-level state matters were discussed and official audiences were held.
