Yıldız Park, Urban park in Beşiktaş district, Istanbul, Turkey
Yıldız Park is an urban green space on a hillside situated between Yıldız Palace and Çırağan Palace, with views toward the Bosphorus strait. The park features landscaped garden areas, walking paths, and several pavilions where visitors can sit and rest.
The land was once a Byzantine forest and later served as Ottoman hunting grounds before becoming part of Sultan Abdulhamid II's palace complex in the 1800s. This transformation reflects how different rulers shaped the use of the territory over time.
The Malta and Çadır pavilions within the park preserve Ottoman architectural details and function today as dining spaces where visitors can eat in historic rooms. People gather in these pavilions to experience the atmosphere of the past while enjoying meals.
The park is easy to navigate on foot and provides wide pathways suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Benches are placed throughout for resting, and cafes are scattered across the grounds where visitors can get refreshments.
A functioning porcelain factory within the park continues ceramic production, connecting the site to the region's craft and manufacturing heritage. Visitors may observe this working facility and sometimes see artisans creating pieces by hand.
