Surp Asdvadzadzin Church, Armenian Orthodox church in Beşiktaş, Turkey
The Surp Asdvadzadzin Church features a stone construction with a central dome design and symmetric wall paintings throughout its interior space.
The current structure, built in 1838 by architect Garabed Amira Balyan, replaced a wooden chapel that was demolished in 1759 due to unauthorized expansion.
The church remains an important center for Armenian Orthodox religious ceremonies and community gatherings in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul.
Visitors can find the church at İlhan Sokak Number 28 in Beşiktaş, where regular services continue to be held for the local congregation.
The church contains memorial eikons dedicated to architects Garabed and Sarkis Balyan, installed during the 1993 restoration of the building.
