Bull McCabe's
Bull McCabe's is an Irish pub located in Durham at the Five Points intersection, featuring both indoor seating and a sprawling outdoor space with picnic tables and a covered patio. The menu combines traditional Irish pub fare and international street food, while the bar stocks about twenty rotating taps of beer alongside other beverages.
Opened in 2007, the pub quickly became a neighborhood gathering place that has since evolved into a go-to sports bar. By 2024, it earned recognition as the best sports bar in the Triangle area.
The pub is home to the Bull City Gooners Arsenal Support Club and serves as Durham's only official Canes Bar, reflecting its role in the local sports fan community. People gather here to celebrate their favorite teams and share their passion for the game.
The pub opens in the afternoon on weekdays and closes around 11 PM, while Thursday through Saturday it stays open until 2 AM; Sunday hours begin in the morning and end at 10 PM. The outdoor space is usable year-round and features heated or shaded areas depending on the season.
The pub opens early on Saturday mornings specifically to accommodate soccer fans watching Premier League matches. This feature makes it one of the few places in Durham where you can catch early morning sports without waiting for afternoon opening times.
