United Services Club Golf Course, Historic golf course in Colaba, Mumbai, India.
United Services Club Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course in Colaba, Mumbai, with tee options suited to different playing levels. The grounds also include a restaurant and facilities such as caddie service, club rental, and practice areas for those preparing to play.
The club was founded in 1928 by the Indian Army, and later came under the joint management of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. That shared stewardship turned it into one of the first dedicated sporting venues for the armed forces on the subcontinent.
The name of the course points directly to its military roots, and that connection is still visible when you walk through the grounds. Flags, insignia, and the general layout carry a sense of the armed forces communities that have used this space for decades.
It is worth checking in advance whether guest access is available, as play is often limited to members or those accompanied by them. Warm-up and practice areas are on site, so arriving a little early gives you time to get ready before heading to the course.
Although the course sits in the middle of one of the world's most densely populated cities, it offers a stretch of green that feels out of place in Mumbai's packed urban fabric. It is also one of the very few golf courses in India to have operated without interruption for nearly a century.
