Place des arts, Arts complex in Quartier des spectacles, Montreal, Canada.
Place des Arts consists of six different performance halls, including the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier with a capacity of 2,996 seats and Montreal Symphony House with 2,117 seats.
The cultural center was founded in 1963 under Mayor Jean Drapeau's initiative to expand Montreal's downtown core eastward from the concentrated business district.
The venue regularly presents symphony concerts, ballet performances, theatrical productions, and opera shows through its resident companies, including Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.
The complex maintains direct access to Place-des-Arts Metro station and provides parking facilities with electric vehicle charging stations for visitors attending performances.
A large outdoor esplanade within the complex functions as a central location for major Montreal events, including the Festival International de Jazz.
