Neni Berlin, Mediterranean restaurant in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Germany.
Neni Berlin is a restaurant on the tenth floor of the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. The menu brings together dishes from across the Middle East and the Mediterranean, drawing on Persian, Moroccan, Israeli, Turkish, and Austrian cooking traditions.
The restaurant opened when the Bikini Berlin complex was redeveloped, and its name comes from the initials of four members of the founding Molcho family. That family background brought together recipes passed down across the Middle East and Europe over generations.
Dishes arrive at the table in the pots and pans they were cooked in, so guests are encouraged to serve each other and share. This gives the meal a casual, family-style feel that is noticeably different from a conventional restaurant setting.
The dining room is on the tenth floor and is reached by elevator from the hotel entrance. A reservation is a good idea, especially if you want a table on the terrace, which fills up quickly on clear days.
The terrace looks directly down onto the Berlin Zoo, which is something you would rarely expect from a city restaurant. On a clear day, you can watch the animals from above while you eat.
