The National Museum of Banat occupies the historic Huniade Castle, presenting extensive collections of archaeological findings and regional artifacts across multiple exhibition halls.
Founded in 1872 by the Society of History and Archeology of Banat, the museum initially displayed its collections in a room at the Palace of the Bishopric of Cenad.
The museum holds the largest archaeological collection in Banat, including the Parța Neolithic Sanctuary dating back 6,200 years on the ground floor.
The museum welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, offering guided tours through departments dedicated to archaeology, history, and natural sciences.
The institution received national museum status in 2016 and maintains specialized laboratories for conservation and preservation of cultural artifacts from the Banat region.
