Brück House

The Brück House is a four-story residential building with a distinctive facade made of ceramic tiles, Hungarian folklore motifs, and enclosed balconies across multiple levels. The street-facing side displays continuous ornamental patterning that defines the entire structure.

The building was constructed in 1910 by architects László Székely and Arnold Merbl, replacing an earlier Austrian Baroque structure that had stood on the same spot. This replacement signaled the shift from traditional to modern artistic styles in the city's architecture.

This residence reflects how Vienna's design trends reached the region, blending artistic forms with local craftsmanship visible in its decorated surfaces. Visitors can observe these influences in the ornamental details that shape the building's character.

The ground floor continues to operate as a pharmacy and displays furniture from the 19th century along with colored stained-glass windows above the entrance. Visitors can easily see and admire the building from outside, as it sits on a central square with good accessibility.

The building has an unusual wedge-shaped form that makes it resemble a thin slice of cake, with squared corners that set it apart from other similar structures in the city. This geometric feature makes it instantly recognizable when exploring the area.
