Morrissey Hotel
The Morrissey Hotel is a modern building with 135 rooms in Jakarta's Menteng area. It combines industrial and contemporary design elements, features a rooftop pool with city views, and offers simply furnished, functional rooms with good air conditioning and natural light from large windows.
The hotel opened in 2010 and underwent renovation in 2024. The Menteng neighborhood was developed during the Dutch colonial period and has retained its architectural features such as wide verandas and high ceilings in many older homes.
The hotel name reflects an international perspective on hospitality. The building represents the contemporary lifestyle of Jakarta's residents, while the Menteng neighborhood maintains its colonial-era character with tree-lined streets where locals gather daily.
The hotel is about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, roughly a 30-minute drive, and is a short walk from Gondangdia train station. Taxis and online transport services are available around the clock, making it easy to move around the city.
The rooftop pool area offers an unusual vantage point overlooking Jakarta's surroundings from above. This elevated outdoor space allows guests to experience the city from a different perspective while relaxing after busy days of exploring.
