Fogo de Chão, Brazilian steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis, United States
Fogo de Chão is a Brazilian steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis housed in the former Zipper Building, serving traditional fire-roasted meats alongside seasonal salads and grilled vegetables. The dining space features a main room with continuous tableside service and a Bar Fogo section offering Brazilian-inspired appetizers and drinks.
The concept started in the late 1970s in Southern Brazil when two brothers transformed traditional grilling techniques from Rio Grande do Sul into a restaurant format. Expansion to North America brought this Brazilian grilling tradition to new markets, including Indianapolis.
The restaurant brings Brazilian churrasco tradition to life, where skilled chefs continuously serve different meat cuts directly from skewers at your table. This tableside service reflects how people gather and eat together in Brazil.
The restaurant opens daily in late morning and offers valet parking for all guests. Private event spaces are available for groups if you are planning a larger gathering or special occasion.
The Bar Fogo section offers a separate experience with Brazilian cocktails and smaller plates, distinct from the continuous meat service. This area lets you explore Brazilian drinking culture without fully committing to the main churrasco experience.
