The Oceanaire Seafood Room
The Oceanaire Seafood Room was a seafood restaurant in Midtown Atlanta featuring modern dark wood interiors and soft lighting. It offered fresh fish, lobster, oysters, and crab dishes daily, with seafood flown in from around the world and accompanied by a thoughtful wine selection.
The restaurant operated for more than twenty years in Atlanta under Landry's Inc., a Houston-based hospitality company that owns numerous dining establishments. It closed in recent years to make way for a new upscale Mexican restaurant called Dos Caminos at the same location.
The restaurant was located on Peachtree Street in Midtown, easily accessible by public transit between the Midtown and Arts Center MARTA stations with convenient parking nearby. Reservations were strongly recommended, especially on weekends and holidays, as the space filled up quickly during peak times.
The space was designed to evoke a 1930s ocean liner, with plush red leather booths and cherry wood accents that created a sophisticated nautical feel. This distinctive design approach set it apart from standard contemporary restaurants and contributed to its appeal for special occasions and proposals.
