999 Peachtree is a 28-story tower located at the corner of Peachtree Street and Tenth Street in downtown, featuring postmodern architectural elements. Built in 1987 by Heery Architects and Engineers, the structure was originally named First Union Plaza and served as the headquarters for First Union National Bank of Georgia. Its completion reflected a major development phase in Atlanta's business district at that time.
The ground floor holds Empire State South restaurant, a gathering space for diners and professionals. The Peachtree Club near the top serves as a meeting place that reflects how the city's business community socializes.
