Bourbon St. Cafe, Cajun restaurant in Bricktown District, Oklahoma City, United States
Bourbon St. Cafe is a Louisiana-inspired restaurant in the basement of the Kingman Building, along the Bricktown Canal in Oklahoma City. It serves seafood and steaks and has a waterfront patio as well as private rooms for group events.
The cafe opened in November 2000 as the first business to set up along the newly built Bricktown Canal. Its arrival helped turn that stretch of water into a place where other restaurants and bars soon followed.
The restaurant celebrates New Orleans traditions through Cajun dishes and regular weekend jazz performances that shape the dining atmosphere. Visitors experience the distinctive music culture and southern cooking of Louisiana without traveling to the city itself.
The restaurant is easy to spot from the canal, as it sits at the corner of the canal and Oklahoma Avenue. Weekends tend to draw more visitors, so booking ahead is a good idea if you plan to come then.
The entrance facing the canal is framed with limestone and decorated with floral patterns, making it stand out from the waterfront path. This kind of decorative stonework is rare for a basement restaurant and gives the spot a look that is hard to miss.
