Skirvin Hilton Hotel, Art Deco hotel in Downtown Oklahoma City, US.
The Skirvin Hilton Hotel is a thirteen-story accommodation in Downtown Oklahoma City with two hundred twenty-five rooms spread across three connected towers. The facade shows restored windows and exterior elements dating back to 1911.
William Balser Skirvin opened the property shortly after Oklahoma became a state, starting with two wings. By 1925 he added a third wing, creating the largest accommodation in the city at that time.
The building takes its name from its founder, who designed it as a gathering place for the city's social life. Local residents today associate the property with stories of early oil barons and political negotiations that took place within its walls.
The property offers about twenty-two thousand square feet of meeting rooms and remains the oldest continuously operating accommodation in the city center. Visitors find the entrance hall on the ground floor, from where elevators lead to the upper levels.
Room 1015 attracts particular attention because several professional basketball teams reported unexplained events during their stays. Some squads now request to be placed on other floors.
