Vale Figueiras Beach

Vale Figueiras Beach is a stretch of sand along the western Algarve coast bordered by natural cliffs and Atlantic waters. The cove is sheltered while the cliffs drop steeply to the shore, and the water remains clear throughout the year.

This beach remained untouched by development across centuries and kept its original character. It now sits within a protected coastal parkland that shields the landscape from modern construction.

The beach attracts surfers who form a relaxed community centered on water sports. Local schools use these waters for lessons, creating a space where people experience nature together.

Visitors should bring water and snacks since the beach has no facilities. Access is via an unpaved road to a parking area, so sturdy footwear and patience with the drive are important.

The cliffs serve as nesting grounds for ospreys and host one of the rare habitats for the Iberian lynx. Spotting the cat itself is nearly impossible, but the cliffs offer viewing points for these majestic birds of prey.
