Slanica, Public beach in Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia.
Slanica is a beach along the Adriatic coast south of Šibenik with a mix of pebbles and sand. The roughly 500-meter coastline offers shallow, clear water for swimming and sits at the edge of a small bay.
The area was developed in the 1960s when residents built the first swimming facilities here. It has remained a local beach ever since, growing slowly without major commercial development.
Locals gather here during warm evenings, and you can see fishing boats coming and going from the small bay. The beach is simply a place where everyday coastal life unfolds naturally throughout the season.
The beach is accessible from the main road via marked pathways and parking is available very close by. It is best to arrive in early morning or late evening hours to find fewer visitors.
The name comes from natural salt deposits found along the shore, as Slanica means salt in Croatian. This geological feature makes the beach geographically distinctive in the region.
