Jezera

Jezera extends across 8.9 square kilometers along the southeastern coast of Murter Island, featuring a natural horseshoe-shaped bay surrounded by hills.

The settlement traces its origins to the 13th century when it developed as a center for maritime activities, including fishing, seafaring, and diving traditions.

The Sea Days of Jezera festival, held from July to September, presents local traditions through music performances, art exhibitions, and maritime demonstrations.

With a population of 798 residents as of 2021, Jezera maintains a density of 90 people per square kilometer in the Tisno municipality.

The natural harbor configuration protects vessels from strong Adriatic winds, while impermeable ground creates seasonal freshwater pools that inspired the town's name.
