Èze Beach

Èze Beach is a pebbled beach along the Mediterranean coast beneath tall limestone cliffs, offering views of turquoise waters and distant sailing vessels. The shoreline occupies a small stretch framed by steep rocky formations on either side.

During medieval times, this coastal area served as a strategic defense location with watchtowers monitoring attacks from sea raiders. These fortifications continue to define the landscape today.

Local fishing families use techniques passed down through generations and supply nearby restaurants with their morning catch. This craft remains woven into the daily rhythm of the waterfront.

The beach is accessible via the Nietzsche Path descending from Èze village or by bus 82 from Nice, which stops near the waterfront. The path downhill is steep, so sturdy footwear is advisable.

The beach sits directly beneath the medieval village of Èze, allowing swimmers to view ancient stone fortifications while in the water. This unusual overlap of ancient architecture and swimming experience is remarkable for the region.
