Real Club de Golf La Herrería, Golf course and pro shop near Monte Abantos, San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain.
Real Club de Golf La Herrería is an 18-hole course spread across roughly 75 hectares of land with oak forests and water hazards throughout. The layout was redesigned in 2000 and features reworked tees at the base of the Guadarrama mountains.
The club opened in 1966 as a new destination for golf in the area. A major redesign by golf course architect José Gancedo in 2000 modernized the course and updated its design standards.
The club welcomes golfers from across the region and serves as a gathering place for people who share this passion. Regular tournaments and social events create opportunities for players to connect and compete throughout the year.
The course operates daily and requires advance booking along with a valid handicap certificate to play. Visitors should plan ahead and ensure they meet the skill requirements before arriving.
The back nine opens into a wide landscape surrounded by three mountain peaks: Abantos, San Benito, and Las Machotas. This natural amphitheater formation creates an uncommon playing experience on this course.
