Safari World Ibra is a zoo spanning approximately 286,000 square meters in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate. It houses over 2,200 animals representing roughly 400 different species from around the world, including lions, tigers, white bears, Arabian oryx, zebras, white tigers, crocodiles, and tortoises. The enclosures simulate natural habitats so visitors can observe animals in environments resembling their original ecosystems.
Founded approximately 10 years ago, Safari World Ibra was established as part of Oman's initiative to diversify tourism offerings. The project combines traditional Omani architectural elements such as fortresses, arches, and palm motifs with modern zoo design to showcase the country's cultural identity. It was developed as a flagship attraction intended to be replicated across different governorates in the sultanate.
The park is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, allowing visitors to spend a full day exploring. Guests can walk through various zones at their own pace and participate in interactive experiences such as hand-feeding certain animals. The facility offers rest areas, food outlets, and amenities to make visits comfortable and convenient.
The park stands out for blending traditional Omani architectural elements like fortress and arch designs into the zoo layout, creating an immersive experience as visitors explore. Few visitors realize that beyond entertainment, the park serves as an educational research venue where schools and universities can conduct programs focused on wildlife conservation and animal welfare.
