Parc Alpha

Parc Alpha is a wolf sanctuary situated between 1500 and 1800 meters in altitude within the Mercantour National Park. The facility maintains separate wolf packs that roam through spacious natural habitats designed to support their wild behavior.

The sanctuary was established to protect wolves in their natural environment after they disappeared from Alpine regions for many generations. It also tells the story of the long-standing conflict between wolves and the shepherds who worked in these mountain areas.

The park features observation points where you can watch how wolf packs interact with each other and organize their daily lives in groups. Through these viewpoints, visitors gain insight into the natural behaviors and relationships that develop within each pack.

The park remains open throughout the year with visiting hours that change with the seasons. Guided tours are offered regularly and help visitors make the most of their time observing from the designated viewing points.

The facility offers a special program where visitors can work for a day as caretakers, helping with daily animal care tasks. This provides a more hands-on experience with the wolves and shows the practical work involved in caring for them.
