Goebbert's Farm
Goebbert's Farm is a seasonal recreation facility in Pingree Grove with more than 50 attractions spread across its acreage. The property includes pumpkin patches, a pick-your-own apple orchard, a corn maze, rides such as a train and carousel, and an animal area with farm and exotic animals.
The farm began in 1948 as a simple vegetable stand run by George Goebbert in Arlington Heights. His son Jim expanded the business starting in the 1970s, purchasing land in South Barrington in 1979 and placing a large fiberglass pumpkin atop a silo that became a landmark. In 1985, Jim acquired additional land in Pingree Grove where the main operation now takes place.
The farm has become an annual fall tradition for many families in the area. It serves as a gathering place where people celebrate the harvest season and connect with rural life through picking produce and spending time outdoors together.
The location is easy to reach with ample parking on site, roughly a short drive from Elgin. The farm operates seasonally from August through October and offers activities suitable for different age groups and energy levels.
An animatronic dinosaur standing about 8 feet tall is a popular attraction where visitors can pet its snout and watch it chomp down on pumpkins. The farm also operates nighttime light shows that illuminate the grounds after dark, creating a different experience for evening visits.
