ZDT's Amusement Park
ZDT's Amusement Park was a family entertainment venue in Seguin, Texas, operating since 2007 with various rides and attractions. The facility grew from simple indoor rides to include the Switchback, the world's first modern wooden shuttle coaster that moves both forward and backward.
The park was founded in 2007 by Danny and Sarah Donhauser and named after their three children: Zac, Danielle, and Tiffany. The venue expanded over the years and added the Switchback coaster in 2015, before closing in August 2025.
The park served as a gathering place where families and neighbors spent time together and created shared memories. It became woven into the community's social life, hosting school trips and birthday celebrations that connected generations.
The park was open most days except Tuesdays and drew visitors from nearby towns and cities. With easy access from both Austin and San Antonio, and adequate parking available, it served as a convenient destination for day trips.
The Switchback coaster was the world's first modern wooden shuttle coaster that could travel both forward and backward on the same track. This innovative design made it stand out among wooden coasters and attracted thrill-seekers who came specifically to experience its unusual mechanics.
