La Machine à Vapeur is a steel roller coaster in the Jardin d'Acclimatation that carries up to 24 passengers across a track of approximately 300 meters in six cars. The ride winds through tight curves and reaches speeds of around 25 kilometers per hour (15 miles per hour).
The ride was originally called Tacot Express before being renamed to reference 19th-century railways and steam-powered vehicles. This name change reflects an effort to honor industrial French history through the attraction.
La Machine à Vapeur represents French engineering heritage through its design elements that mirror the technological advances of the industrial era in Paris.
Children taller than about 120 centimeters (4 feet) can ride independently, while shorter children need an adult to accompany them. The entire ride lasts around one minute.
