Dolmen nord Wéris

The North Dolmen of Wéris features large stone slabs arranged in a corridor structure with a massive thirty-ton capstone covering the burial chamber.

The megalithic monument dates back to 3000 BCE, belonging to the Seine-Oise-Marne culture, and was first officially documented by Major Auguste Daufresne in 1879.

Three standing stones mark the entrance to the burial chamber, indicating the advanced architectural knowledge of Neolithic communities in funeral monument construction.

The archaeological site opens year-round without entrance fees, but visitors must observe from outside the structure to protect the ancient stones.

The stone structure forms part of an 8-kilometer alignment of megalithic monuments, representing the largest concentration of dolmens in Belgium.
