Qala-e-Bost

Qala-e-Bost is an ancient fortification located where two rivers meet, showing remains of residential buildings and defensive walls. The site contains a deep shaft with spiral staircases and chambers that descend into the ground.

The fortification developed around 3000 years ago and was modified over many centuries by different ruling groups. It stood on important trade routes and served successive societies as an urban center.

The remaining arch from an ancient mosque displays decorative craftsmanship that reflects the religious traditions of its builders. This structure shows how people at this location expressed their beliefs through architecture and design.

The site is accessible by road from the south and offers various areas to explore, some with shaded spots. Visitors should be prepared for uneven ground and wear suitable footwear to walk safely across the ancient structures.

An underground network of passages and chambers runs throughout the site and displays remarkable engineering techniques from different periods. These hidden spaces served various purposes and are easy to miss on a quick visit.
