Le Front de Mer, Seaside promenade in Argelès-sur-Mer, France
Le Front de Mer is a seaside promenade running roughly 5 kilometers in Argelès-sur-Mer, lined with mature pine trees providing shade. The path connects the harbor to the beach with views of the Mediterranean throughout.
The promenade was developed to improve access between the harbor and beaches as the coastal settlement grew. It has since become an established gathering place for locals and visitors alike.
Since 2009, the Argelès Photo Nature exhibition displays large-scale outdoor photographs along the seafront, drawing over one million visitors each year.
The path is flat and easy to walk with multiple fountains and seating areas along the way. Free parking is available near the main roads, making arrival straightforward.
A bridge structure spanning the harbor creates a direct crossing to the beach and sees heavy foot traffic during summer months. This connection lets visitors move between the two waterfront zones without detouring inland.
