Sereia da Gelfa
Sereia da Gelfa is a campground with a water park in Âncora, Portugal, accommodating tents, motorhomes, and bungalows. The facility features multiple swimming pools with water slides, tennis and soccer courts, a children's playground, dining areas, a bar, and shower and laundry facilities.
The site evolved from a simple tent zone into a modern resort with a water park. Its location near the historic forts of Âncora connects it to the maritime history of the region.
The name comes from a mermaid figure in local folklore. The place is used by people spending time with family and friends, drawn to its connection with the coastal rhythm and seaside tradition.
The grounds are about 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) from the town center of Vila Praia de Âncora and easily walkable to nearby beaches. On-site parking, a reception desk with information and assistance upon arrival, plus a game room and common room provide spaces to rest after outdoor activities.
Nearby is the Pinhal da Gelfa, a pine forest offering quiet walks and popular with nature lovers. The forest lets visitors escape the busier parts of the coast while staying within walking distance of the campground.
