Waterfall Splash Pad
The Waterfall Splash Pad is a large water play area in Wardle Fields Regional Park featuring water sprayers, arches, and a waterfall feature that children can walk or run through. The ground consists of floating rubber mats that make walking safer and prevent slipping.
The splash pad opened in 2017 on land that Salt Lake County purchased in 2008, which had previously been farmed by Charles Wardle who grew crops like alfalfa and barley. It was developed as one of the county's new Destination Parks to provide families with a large outdoor recreation space.
The park is named after Charles Wardle, a farmer who worked the land for many years before it became a public space. Today, families gather here to play and relax together, making it a social hub where people spend quality time outdoors.
Bring sunscreen and hats since the area has minimal shade and strong sun exposure throughout the day. A portable shade tent or umbrella is helpful for comfort, and carrying water bottles to stay hydrated is wise during your visit.
Hidden throughout the park are cement and stone features with animal tracks that children can discover and explore during their visit. These small surprises add an extra element of discovery and play to the experience.
