Sphere Tim Raue
Sphere Tim Raue is a German restaurant inside the Berlin TV Tower in Mitte, sitting roughly 207 meters above the ground. The dining room is set inside the spherical section of the tower and rotates slowly, so the view of the city shifts continuously during a meal.
The Berlin TV Tower was built by East Germany in the 1960s and opened in 1969 as a symbol of socialist modernity. The restaurant in the tower's sphere has operated since then and was later rebranded under chef Tim Raue with a focus on Berlin and Brandenburg cooking.
A reservation is required to dine here, and tables are assigned automatically when booking, so specific seats cannot be chosen in advance. The ticket covers the elevator ride up to the restaurant, and booking ahead is strongly advised, especially on weekends.
This restaurant is the highest rotating restaurant within the European Union. The rotation is slow enough that you barely feel it, but over the course of an hour the full panorama shifts all the way around.
