Smitons Bay Beach

The golden sand beach stretches along the northern coast of Barbados, framed by natural rock formations and clear Caribbean waters reaching far into the horizon.

The beach remains unchanged since colonial times when it served as a natural harbor for small fishing vessels supplying fresh catch to Saint Lucy parish.

Local fishermen continue the centuries-old tradition of launching their boats from this beach, bringing fresh fish directly to residents and restaurants each morning.

During low tide, natural pools form between the rocks, creating protected areas for swimming, while high tide brings stronger waves suitable for experienced swimmers.

The northern location of this beach creates exceptional conditions for watching sea turtles nesting between July and October on the untouched shoreline.
