Frame Of Reference

Frame of Reference consists of two locations with around 6,000 square feet of exhibition space spread across Whitefish and Bigfork. Both sites display paintings, photographs, prints, and sculptures alongside custom framing services for artwork.

The founder established the business in Bigfork, where it built on the area's artistic history. A second location was added later to serve visitors year-round.

The space features work by local and regional artists who capture Montana's landscapes and contemporary subjects. Visitors encounter different artistic perspectives that reflect the creative community's connection to the surrounding nature and daily life.

Both galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, offering art viewing and framing services. Checking ahead is wise since hours may adjust seasonally.

The original Bigfork building has housed art galleries since the 1970s and continues this tradition today. This consistent role in the local art community makes it a recognized gathering place for artists.
