Playa Francesa, Natural beach in La Graciosa, Spain
Playa Francesa is a beach on La Graciosa island with two separate sections of white sand divided by a natural stone formation. The shoreline faces the Atlantic Ocean and provides open water for swimming.
The beach lies within the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, established in 1986 to protect the northern waters around Lanzarote. The island remained relatively isolated due to its remote location for much of its history.
Local fishermen continue their traditional practices along this coastline, maintaining connections to the maritime heritage of La Graciosa island.
The beach has no facilities on site, so visitors should bring water, food, and sun protection. The walk from the village takes roughly an hour and works best as a day trip.
The natural rock formations create several coves with different water conditions depending on the season. The northern section remains calmer year-round and suits swimmers of varying abilities.
