Kund Malir Beach, Beach in Kund Malir, Pakistan
Kund Malir Beach is a long stretch of pale sand along the Balochistan coast in Pakistan, bordered by rough rocky cliffs and open desert. The shore is wide and mostly empty, with gentle waves rolling in and a clear view across the water to the horizon.
Remnants of old settlements near the cliffs point to a long human presence along this part of the coast. The area has remained lightly inhabited, and its history is visible mostly through scattered traces rather than standing monuments.
Local fishermen sometimes set out in small boats during the early morning, and visitors may see them working near the waterline. The lack of commercial buildings keeps the shore simple, and people often come just to sit on the sand, collect shells, or watch the changing light.
Visiting is easiest in the cooler months from November to February, since summer heat can be intense and there is little shade on the open sand. Bring your own water, food and sun protection, as there are almost no shops or services directly on the shore.
Just inland from the sand, unusual mud cones occasionally release bursts of wet earth, creating a strange sight close to the water. Campers also notice how clearly the stars appear after dark, because there is almost no artificial light for many miles around.
