Plage de Ramonette, Coastal beach in Le Palais, France.
Ramonette is a coastal beach on the eastern shore of Le Palais with fine sand in the upper section that becomes coarser towards the waterline. Rocky outcrops frame the beach on both sides and provide a natural setting with gradual access to the water.
The beach was lined with wooden bathing cabins along its upper section during the early days of tourism in Belle-Île-en-Mer. These structures shaped how the site developed as a coastal vacation destination in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The beach serves as a favorite meeting spot for locals, especially during summer months when families spend time here together. You can see people walking, swimming, or sitting on the rocks watching the water.
You can reach the beach from the town center via a coastal path or by car using the Bangor and Port Hallan route. The upper section has finer sand that is easier to walk on, while the area near the water becomes rockier.
From Ramonette point you can see the fort, the Le Palais harbor, the citadel, and distant views toward Quiberon and Houat Island. This vantage point makes the location popular for photography and watching harbor activity throughout the day.
