Plage de Canetto

Plage de Canetto is a sandy beach on the southern coast of Corsica with fine sand and clear Mediterranean waters backed by steep coastal cliffs. The shoreline features a gentle slope into the water and ample sandy space for relaxation.

The beach served as a natural anchorage since ancient times when Mediterranean sailors sheltered in the protected cove. Its location along trade routes made it significant for maritime activity in the region.

The beach is about 10 minutes from Bonifacio on the Porto-Vecchio road, with an unpaved path leading to the parking area. Swimming is most comfortable from May through October when water temperatures are warmest.

The sheltered position and shallow water make this spot less crowded than other beaches nearby, creating a more relaxed environment. Visitors seeking quieter swimming conditions find noticeably fewer people here compared to more popular alternatives.
