Port Kerledan

Port Kerledan is a sandy beach set in a sheltered cove with a gently sloping seabed, rocky formations, and calm waters ideal for swimming and water sports. The narrow entrance to the cove provides natural protection from stronger waves and creates good conditions for various activities.

The site developed in the 19th century as Sauzon became the second harbor of Belle-Île-en-Mer and remained important for local maritime activities. Over generations, the sheltered cove served as a practical anchorage for fishing vessels and local boat traffic.

Fishermen have long relied on this sheltered cove for their work, and the place continues to reflect the maritime traditions that define life in this Breton community.

Swimming is supervised in summer months with showers and a parking area available via Route de Porh Kerledan. It is best to arrive early, especially on weekends, as the limited parking fills quickly during peak season.

The narrow cove naturally shields boats and swimmers from strong Atlantic waves, making this spot particularly valued for small craft and paddlers. These protective features have made it a reliable refuge for water activities throughout the year, not just during calm summer periods.
