Plage de Vazen

Plage de Vazen is a flat sandy beach in Bangor on Belle-Ile-en-Mer, stretching between rocky walls and a reed-covered valley. The yellow sand creates a wide expanse that welcomes swimmers and walkers.

The area has been managed as a natural preserve by the Morbihan Department over several decades. These protection efforts help keep the coastal landscape intact for future visitors.

Local people gather shellfish and fish from the rocks here, activities that shape daily life on this coast. These practices show how the community has long used this stretch of water for food and leisure.

To reach this beach, follow the D190 road from Le Palais, passing the airport before turning at Petit Cosquet. From there, a wooden bridge leads directly down to the sand.

At low tide, the sand spreads out far wider than usual, giving visitors extra space to explore. Unlike the nearby surfing spot of Donnant, the water here stays calmer for swimming.
