Spiaggia di S'Archittu, Coastal beach in Cuglieri, Sardinia, Italy
Spiaggia di S'Archittu is a white-sand beach backed by limestone cliffs with a natural stone arch jutting into the sea. The cove stretches roughly 260 meters and is framed by tall rocks that create a distinctive coastal formation.
The limestone formations and arch developed over thousands of years through erosion by water and wind. This geological process shaped one of Sardinia's largest natural stone bridges and continues to define the coast today.
Locals favor this beach for evening walks when the sun lights up the natural stone arch in dramatic ways. The cove has become a gathering spot where residents and visitors pause to take in the coastal landscape together.
The beach is reached via the SS292 road from Oristano, with paid and free parking near the entrance. It is easier to visit in early morning or late afternoon to avoid midday crowds.
Below the waterline, submerged limestone formations create shallow pools that are ideal for snorkeling. The western facing orientation means visitors see the sun sink directly into the Mediterranean each evening.
