Platgeta de Penya Tallada, Coastal beach in Salou, Spain
Platgeta de Penya Tallada is a small beach along the Salou coast with natural rock formations and golden sand on the Mediterranean. The shoreline runs about 60 meters long and 20 meters wide, with rocks and sand mixing together naturally.
The name comes from rock formations shaped by ocean waves over centuries along the Catalan coast. These natural forces created the distinctive layout that makes this section of shore memorable.
The place keeps its natural feel through limited building and protection of the surrounding pine forest. Local people value this undeveloped state as part of their connection to the coast.
To reach the beach, follow a walking path from Punta Roja Street, as there is no direct vehicle access or parking available. Wearing good shoes helps since the path crosses uneven ground near the pine forest.
A striking rock formation juts about 100 meters into the sea and creates natural barriers. This rock wall shields the beach from waves and makes it feel more sheltered than nearby coastal sections.
