Tutuki Splash, Water ride in PortAventura World, Spain
Tutuki Splash is a water ride located in the Polynesia section of PortAventura World, taking you through dark tunnels and down an artificial volcano. The attraction features two significant drops that serve as its main highlights during the journey.
The ride opened in 1995 and has maintained its original design from manufacturer Intamin ever since. It uses the classic Shoot the Chute mechanism, a water ride technology that has proven reliable over many years.
The ride incorporates Polynesian cultural elements throughout its journey, with references to the goddess Pele and the legendary village of Vakatunaloa woven into the experience as you travel.
You must be at least 1.40 meters (4 feet 7 inches) tall to ride alone, or 1.20 meters (3 feet 11 inches) when accompanied by an adult. Express passes are available to help reduce waiting times during peak hours.
The final plunge creates a massive splash using roughly 1000 liters of water per boat, a volume equivalent to one person's yearly water use. This dramatic ending makes the ride memorable for everyone on board.
