Silver River Flume, Water ride in Far West area of PortAventura World, Spain.
Silver River Flume is a water ride in the Far West area of PortAventura World that takes you through a water channel with three descents before ending in a substantial drop that sends up a large splash. The journey lasts about six minutes and includes several moments of thrills and spray.
The ride draws inspiration from the traditional method of floating timber down rivers to reach sawmills during the American frontier era of the 1800s. This system was essential infrastructure for the logging industry of that period.
The queue building represents a working sawmill run by Silver River Milling & Lumber Company, where you can see period wood-processing equipment displayed throughout. Walking through, you notice the machinery and tools that would have been used daily in such operations.
You must be at least 1.40 meters (4 feet 7 inches) tall to ride alone, though younger children between 1 and 1.40 meters can ride with adult supervision. Bring a towel or wear waterproof clothing, as the final drop sends up considerable spray that reaches nearby riders.
The water course crosses over the tracks of the El Diablo mining train, where two different transportation systems of the Far West theme intersect. This intersection creates visual moments where both rides use intersecting paths.
